Police and Crime Panel Letter of Response to PCC’s Annual Report 2024/25

Dear Councillor Robini,

Thank you for your letter (will open as PDF document) following our recent meeting to discuss my Annual Report 2024-25. I am grateful for the Panel’s constructive comments and for recognising the achievements and activities set out in the Report.

The Annual Report is designed to provide the public with a high-level summary of progress against the priorities in the Police and Crime Plan. I am content that the Report demonstrates how my Office and Surrey Police have worked towards each of the Plan’s priorities over the past year.

I will, however, reflect on the Panel’s feedback and consider whether future Annual Reports could provide further granularity, particularly in relation to progress against specific objectives, deliverables and commitments.

I would also emphasise that throughout my term of office I have placed great importance on ensuring the public has better access to policing and performance data. This has included the creation of our dedicated Data Hub and the proactive publication of a wider range of information on our website, which I believe adds valuable context alongside the Annual Report and is referenced throughout.

Once again, thank you for your consideration of this document and I will now look to publish the final version of the Annual Report.

Yours sincerely,

Lisa Townsend

Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey
