Executive Summary:
For 2026/27 the Police and Crime Commissioner has made available £383,000 for the Community Safety Fund to ensure continued support to local community, voluntary and faith organisations.
Application to the Community Safety Fund
Surrey Police –Knife Amnesty Bin Replacement
To award Surrey Police £5,000 to replace Surrey’s 6 knife amnesty bin sites in Surrey, 3 in the main police stations (Caterham, Guildford and Staines) and 3 in civic centres (Esher, Woking and Epsom). Amnesty bins provide a safe opportunity for individuals to dispose of bladed weapons and the intention is to replace the bins at the current sites with 6 more secure and profession metal amnesty bins.
Recommendation
The Commissioner supports the applications to the Community Safety Fund and awards to the following;
- £5,000 to Surrey Police to replace 6 knife amnesty bins.
