Executive Summary:
For 2025/26, the Police and Crime Commissioner has made available £270,000.00 of funding to reduce reoffending in Surrey.
Application for Standard Grant Award above £5,000 – Reducing Reoffending Fund
The Hope Hub – Empowerment Project – Mags Mercer
Brief overview of service/decision – To award £84,000, over three years, to The Hope Hub. This would equate to £28,000 for this financial year, to contribute towards The Hope Hub’s full-service pathway delivered through their day service in Camberley and their emergency accommodation service house.
Reason for funding – 1) To reduce reoffending by supporting and advocating for individuals so they have the best chance to move safely towards independence, and turn away from offending behaviour, through their strengths based, trauma-informed support.
2) To protect vulnerable people in Surrey & strengthen safe and resilient communities – The Hope Hub supports ex-offenders and those who are vulnerable and experiencing multiple disadvantage. They work with them to move towards safe living, improving their life skills, and delivering wellbeing workshops appropriate to need. They support individuals with mental health, probation requirements, court appearances and addressing substance use etc.
