I am pleased to see that HMICFRS have found that most forces have a good and improving capability to the multi-agency approach towards Prevent. I welcome the recommendations made for the NPCC to give further clarity, guidance and support to forces.
Locally we have made great improvements over the last few years in working with partners on Prevent. I receive regular briefings from Surrey Police and regional leads and we have the right police representation at the multi-agency boards including the Channel Panel. At my next briefing I shall be asking about progress locally with the counter terrorism local profiles.
