Decision Log 013/2022 – Disposal of Land to the rear of 1-3 Old Elstead Road

Decision number: 13/2022

Author and Job Role: Kelvin Menon – OPCC Treasurer

Protective Marking: OFFICIAL

Executive Summary:

Disposal of Land owned by Surrey PCC to the rear of 1-3 Old Elstead Road Milford.

Background

The PCC was transferred the freehold title to three police houses known as No 1 to 3 Old Elstead Road in Milford from the County Council when the Police Authority became independent.

Over time, two of the houses were sold off – these are No’s 1 and 2 Old Elstead Road. The third remains in the PCCs ownership and is currently let to Crown Simmons via a management agreement and occupied by a member of Surrey Police staff.

The PCC retained an area of garden land from the sale of Nos 1 and 2 and an equivalent piece of land currently forming part of the garden to the retained No 3 Old Elstead Road.

This strip of land has a frontage to the neighbouring road – Old Manor Crescent.

Bruton Knowles were appointed to market the site and an offer has now been accepted which is in excess of the agent’s valuation.

The PCC is now being asked to give permission for the property to be disposed of.

Recommendation

It is RECOMMENDED that the PCC give authority to the Surrey Head of Estates to finalise the disposal of the land to the rear of 1-3 Old Elstead Road subject to final negotiation.
