For 2026/27 the Police and Crime Commissioner has made available £383,000 for the Community Safety Fund to ensure continued support to local community, voluntary and faith organisations.
Applications to the Community Safety Fund
Surrey County Council – Community Safety Survey
To award Surrey County Council £5,950 for the to repeat the Surrey Community Safety and Cohesion Survey in 2026, building on the county‑wide survey delivered in 2025. Repeating the survey using the same core questions will allow robust year‑on‑year comparison of residents’ perceptions of safety, belonging and community cohesion, helping to identify emerging issues and track change over time.
Surrey County Council – Trauma-Informed PSHE Curriculum on serious violence, knife crime and extremism Prevention
To award Surrey County Council £40,000 to Young people are navigating increasing exposure to online and offline narratives linked to extremism, grievance, identity, and violence. Funding will be used to strengthen protective factors and support young people’s wellbeing, sense of belonging, and ability to navigate risk and challenge safely, through an evidence-informed, trauma-responsive PSHE curriculum focused on preventing extremism and serious violence.
Recommendation
The Commissioner supports the applications to the Community Safety Fund and the Children and Young People Fund and awards to the following.
- £5,950 to Surrey County Council to deliver the Community Safety Survey.
- £40,000 to Surrey County Council for the delivery of a trauma informed PSHE curriculum on serious violence, knife crime and extremism.
