VIDEO: From burglary to tackling terrorism – PCC holds Chief Constable to account at latest Performance Meeting

Surrey Police’s response to a recent rise in burglary, tackling the threat of terrorism and improving community engagement were amongst the topics discussed yesterday at the Police and Crime Commissioner’s latest webcast performance meeting.

PCC David Munro questioned Surrey Police Chief Constable Nick Ephgrave on a number of issues including how the Force are addressing hate crime, sustaining the improvement in the 101 non-emergency number service and improving processes around firearms licensing following recommendations from the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

The performance meetings help the PCC scrutinise the performance of Surrey Police and hold the Chief Constable to account. They take place every six weeks and every other meeting is made available for the public to watch via a webcast.
