Serious Violence Programme Lead

Salary Grade Range: £38,979 – £56,223
Working Hours: 36 Hours per week

We’re seeking a passionate individual with strong partnership experience to lead on the development of policy and strategy that ensures that our Office and the specified authorities in Surrey stay ahead of the field in carrying out their responsibilities to the Serious Violence duty.

As a partnership post hosted by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, priority activity will involve designing and supporting the required governance and partnership structures, developing a strategic needs assessment and Serious Violence Reduction Strategy.

The role will include ensuring that the Commissioner and the specified authorities meet all their statutory obligations in relation to the Serious Violence duty, including meeting the milestones, identifying emerging needs and the appropriate use of funding allocated to our office by the Home Office to support the delivery of the Duty.

You will need substantial proven and well-evidenced experience of community safety and serious violence, and of developing and implementing policy and strategy within a public sector context. It will be important that you have a sound knowledge of policing and police governance, and have experience of maintaining and managing a budget.

The successful applicant will also support the wider work of the Commissioner’s Office to deliver on the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan for the county.
