Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Kevin Hurley, was yesterday presented with a new national Transparency Quality Mark, which recognises the openness of the PCC and his office, and their willingness to communicate with residents of Surrey at every opportunity.
At an event hosted by leading police auditors Grant Thornton, the PCC was presented with the Transparency Quality Mark by Lord Bew, Chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Live, and the Chief Executive of Comparing Police and Crime Commissioners (CoPaCC), Bernard Rix.
PCC Kevin Hurley said:
“In line with my priority to give the public more say on how their streets are policed, it is vital in my view that the public are well informed on not only how they are policed, but in what my office and I are doing to hold Surrey Police to account in every area.
“I am delighted to receive this award, and to see my staff recognised in this way.”
