Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner Kevin Hurley joined the Elmbridge Community Safety Partnership at the Civic Centre, Esher, on the evening of 12th June to face the public and discuss the hot topics concerning residents of the Borough.
More than 100 attendees heard from representatives of agencies including Elmbridge Borough Council, Surrey County Council, Surrey Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue, Surrey Trading Standards, Surrey and Sussex Probation Trust and Elmbridge Housing Trust.
After presentations from Elmbridge Borough Council Chief Executive Robert Moran, Police and Crime Commissioner Kevin Hurley and Surrey Police Borough Commander David Hollingsworth, attendees led discussions around their priorities for the area, including anti-social behaviour, anti-social driving and cold-calling.
Commenting on the event, Kevin Hurley said:
“I want to thank everyone who came along to what was an extremely positive Crime Summit. It can only be a good thing for leaders from the police, councils and other public services to get together with the public to talk about the hot topics of concern in the area. It was gratifying to be able to play a part in that discussion.
“By not ignoring problems in their community and taking the time to discuss how we can all help to do something about them, Elmbridge’s residents and public servants are demonstrating zero-tolerance in action. Together we can make Elmbridge a better, safer place to live and work.”
