Police & Crime Commissioners have the statutory responsibility to provide services to support victims cope and recover. The Ministry of Justice have provided additional funding until 2024/25 for Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs). This service is to extend the current provision of IDVAs within Surrey.  

Bakgrunnur 

Funding will be awarded to ESDAS as lead provider for the Surrey Domestic Abuse Partnership to deliver the following services in Surrey;

  • A LBGT+ IDVA to provide specialist support for LBGT+ victims
  • Core IDVA provision – uplift of 4 FTE IDVAs
  • Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee Services IDVA – Support BAME victims of domestic abuse (DA)
  • Child and Young Persons IDVA – Support young DA victims
  • IDVA Service Managers – additional manager capacity to oversee increased workload


Meðmæli

The total funds of £566,352.00 to be provided to ESDAS per annum to provide the aforementioned services in Surrey until 2024/25.
