Important information
We are sorry that you wish to make a complaint about the conduct of the Chief Constable of Surrey Police.
Our office is the appropriate authority for handling complaints against the Chief Constable, however, to count as a valid complaint, the conduct alleged must specifically involve the personal actions and conduct of the Chief Constable. Pursuant to the Police Reform Act 2002, a complaint will not be valid purely because the Chief Constable has organisational culpability. The matter complained of must relate to the specific and actual personal conduct of the Chief Constable. Additionally, the complainant must have been adversely affected by the alleged conduct.
Expressions of dissatisfaction about the general level of service provided by Surrey Police, its officers or staff, that reference the Chief Constable but do not actually involve his personal conduct are not classed as valid.
These types of complaint should be submitted directly to the Professional Standards Department (PSD) of Surrey Police, who are the appropriate authority for handling these matters, by emailing psd@surrey.police.uk or submitting your complaint online using this link: https://www.surrey.police.uk/fo/feedback/complaints/complaints/make-complaint-about-police/
