Salary grade range:        £37,123 – £54,323 (Surrey Police Band 2)

Working hours:                36 hours a week

We are seeking a skilled and confident Complaints and Compliance Officer to join the team in the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Surrey. 

Working closely with the Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) and staff in her office, you will be a motivated individual with excellent inter-personal skills.  You will take responsibility for all complaints received by the office and handle them efficiently, but also sensitively.   You will ensure that the Office of the PCC is compliant with Freedom of Information and Data Protection issues.  With the ability to provide sound advice and interpret complex information, you will build constructive relationships with colleagues and partners across a range of agencies.

You should enjoy working both independently and as part of a small team and be able to line manage a member of staff.   A knowledge of policing complaints legislation or experience working with resolving complaints would be an advantage, as would a sound understanding of Freedom of Information (FoI) and Data Protection matters.

This is a politically restricted post under Section 1 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
