Spelthorne residents are invited to the Borough’s Crime Summit, which takes place on Wednesday 11th September 18:30-20:30 at Spelthorne Borough Council’s Office in Staines-upon-Thames.
The Crime Summit will be held in conjunction with Spelthorne Safer Stronger Partnership’s ‘Face the People’ event. The event will see senior members of the Partnership Board giving their end of year report and making themselves available for questions from the public on community safety issues. Kevin Hurley, Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner, will also discuss the People’s Priorities for policing and crime which form the basis of his Police and Crime Plan for Surrey.
The event is an opportunity for residents in Spelthorne to hear about community safety work in the area; raise the issues that are affecting their lives and discuss with all of the public agencies working in the area how we can work together to solve those problems.
After presentations and Q&A, attendees will be asked to choose a break out group to take part in. The options are:
- Anti-social behaviour and nuisance neighbours;
- Anti-social driving and speeding; and
- Working with volunteers to make Spelthorne safer
The Summit will be two hours in length and refreshments will be provided from 6pm.

Following his election as Police and Crime Commissioner in November 2012, Kevin Hurley pledged to hold Crime Summits in every Borough and District in Surrey.
Kevin Hurley said:
“I am delighted to be able to come to Spelthorne and join with the Safer Stronger Partnership for this Crime Summit.
“This is about your Borough – where you live, work and where your children grow up. We are here as your public servants to work with you to make it the place you want it to be.
“Senior figures from all of the agencies responsible for the key public services in the area will be represented. Come and see us – tell us what is happening in the area and what you would like us to do for you. I look forward to seeing you there.”
