Kevin Hurley welcomes high level of interest in Police and Crime Plan meetings

More than 280 people have now registered to attend a series of three public meetings being hosted in January by Kevin Hurley, Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey. A fourth event is now being planned in the East of the county, details of which will be announced in the next few days.

The meetings will be an opportunity for the public to talk to Kevin and give their views on policing across the county as part of the development process for the Police and Crime Plan, the document that will set out the overall strategy for policing and community safety in Surrey during his time in office.

Kevin Hurley said:

“The level of interest in these meetings has been excellent and shows that the appetite is there to get involved. I look forward to meeting everyone who comes along. We are now planning a fourth meeting as a result of extra demand in the East of the county. I will release more details about this shortly.

“I have been elected to make sure you are getting the quality policing service that you pay for and that you have every right to expect.  I intend to do that in as open a way as I can throughout my time in office.

“I will be announcing more events and more opportunities for you to follow my work and play a part throughout 2013.”

The dates and venues for the meetings announced so far are:

–          Tuesday 8 January, 7-9pm, at Staines Community Centre

–          Thursday 10 January, 7-9pm at Dorking Halls

–          Saturday 12 January, 11am-1pm at the HG Wells Centre in Woking

Places are limited – to register to attend, the public should contact the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner by telephone on 01483 630 200; by emailing SurreyPCC@surrey.police.uk or by post at PO Box 412, Guildford, Surrey GU3 1BR
